The Cool Thatch (yes that is the real name) is the first of its kind in Ireland as the only 2 story, five bedroom thatched home, built in Co. Cavan.

The house was built as a party house for a retired developer and comes with a gym, wine cellar and interesting colour palette. It’s a stand out property that has attracted a lot of attention in gthe area.

Inspired by the thatched properties in Cornwall, England, no expense was spared as the client himself has built
over 5000 houses in Ireland in his day.

On a sunny day the yellow thatch and
the white walls are beautiful against
the blue sky... it’s very dramatic, as is the inside.

RTE Home of the year wanted to
feature it but the client declined.
